De Oude Bibliotheek (DOB) is a knowledge institute for the offshore energy sector. It is
comprised of an academy (DOB-Academy) and an innovator (DOT). The academy provides
training courses for professionals and houses its own experts, graphical department and
animation studio. DOT develops a new type of wind turbine and a new type of foundation. A total
of approximately 80 people work at DOB. Both subsidiaries of DOB share the same IT
infrastructure, which is installed at two locations.
Job overview
Working behind the scenes at a medium sized company maintaining and updating every aspect of
its ICT infrastructure. It is your task to make sure that your colleagues have access to the IT
resources in a reliable and secure fashion. Furthermore, you will be responsible for a diverse
portfolio of project, ranging from replacing a hard disk in a laptop to configuring a firewall. The
diversity of the teams and projects at DOB ensures that you will never have a dull moment and
requires you to continuously learn about the latest IT development on a variety of platforms.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Making sure the following devices are up and running
- Server
- Network Attached Storage (NAS)
- Other network devices such as switches, access points and firewall
- Keeping the Active Directory up-to-date
- Supporting colleagues accessing the ICT infrastructure
- Supporting colleagues with other IT related questions
- IT Projects related to the wind turbine development
Qualifications
- Student at university or HBO
- Interested in solving IT related problems
- Programming experience is preferred
- Basic understanding of the Dutch language is preferred
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Back-up is preferred
- Basic knowledge about networking such as TCP-IP, FTP, http(s), SMTP is preferred
- Basic knowledge about MS desktop and server environment is preferred
