DOT: Mechanical Engineer

DOT is a small start-up company, working on the development of offshore wind turbines with seawater-hydraulic power transmission. Recent successes have spurred the need for more skilled engineers (BSc & MSc). At DOT you will find a diverse group of young, enthusiastic full-timers, part-timers and (graduate & PhD) students.

Main tasks/responsibilities

  • Design of mechanical and hydraulic machines and systems, including FEM analysis and FMEA.
  • Overseeing procurement and construction of parts.
  • Commissioning and testing of machines and systems.

Preferred skills:

  • Experienced with 3D CAD modeling software such as Inventor or Solidworks
  • Experienced in finite element analysis
  • Knowledge of tribology and material science
  • Knowledge of hydraulics

Job requirements:

  • Able to work independently; identify work/to-do’s and get it done
  • Willing to learn; don’t expect many seniors explaining how to do it
  • Problem solving attitude; you write the manuals on how it is done
  • Strong awareness of HSE (health, safety, environment)
  • Education level BSc or MSc
  • Preferably 2 to 5 years work experience, though this is not a hard requirement

DOT: Control Engineer

  • Work with systems such as frequency drives (10 – 500kW), wind turbine pitch systems, electric actuators (e.g.: spear valves, (proportional) valves) and sensors.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with PLC hardware (DOT uses Beckhoff I/O), preferably experience with PLC software.
  • Knowledge of wind turbine technology & control.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.

Job requirements:

  • Design of electric circuits.
  • Electric wiring of test set-ups and turbines.
  • Commissioning of electric equipment, such as frequency drives (10 – 500kW), wind turbine pitch system, electric actuators (e.g.: spear valves, (proportional) valves) and sensors.

Preferred skills:

  • Control electronics: 24V design, order, connect/commission and maintain (according to NEN3140/NEN1010).
  • Power electronics: 230V/480V/690V design, order, connect/commission and maintain (according to NEN3140/NEN1010).
  • Experience with PLC hardware (DOT uses Beckhoff I/O), preferably experience with PLC software.

Job requirements:

ZELFSTANDIG WERKENDE KOK MET RESTAURANT-ERVARING VOOR OVERDAG [30-38 uur per week]

DOB-Academy is een jong bedrijf in de Offshore industrie, gevestigd in een prachtig monumentaal pand in Delft. Wij zijn gespecialiseerd in kennisdeling en profileren ons als ontmoetingsplek voor de Offshore industrie. We organiseren cursussen, seminars en faciliteren zaalhuur voor professionals op het gebied van Offshore wind energie en andere Offshore gerelateerde onderwerpen. Maar ook externe partijen weten ons steeds vaker te vinden als de locatie voor meetings en evenementen. Gastvrijheid, professionaliteit en kwaliteit hebben wij hoog in het vaandel staan.

Wie ben jij?

Jij bent een creatieve aanpakker met restaurant-ervaring die houdt van het koken van nu. Als zelfstandig werkende kok experimenteer je graag met gevarieerde ingrediënten waarmee je verrassende en verantwoorde (voornamelijk vegetarische en biologisch) eigentijdse gerechten bereid, die niet zouden misstaan in een toprestaurant. Dagelijks worden er gezonde warme en koude gerechten voor 50-100 gasten en medewerkers gemaakt. Al onze gerechten, van lekkernijen voor bij de koffie tot hartige tussendoortjes en van lunches tot borrels, worden vers bereid in onze professionele keuken.

De taken en verantwoordelijkheden zijn:

  • Het zelfstandig bereiden van gerechten;
  • Het verrichten van voorbereidende werkzaamheden zoals wassen, snijden, mengen etc;
  • Beoordelen van de te gebruiken ingrediënten op versheid & houdbaarheid;
  • Schoonmaken van de werk omgeving, keukenapparatuur e.d.

Voor het succesvol vervullen van deze functie, vragen wij:

  • Een afgeronde koksopleiding (aanbevolen);
  • Je bent in staat om zowel in teamverband als zelfstandig te werken;
  • Je beschikt over goede sociale en communicatieve vaardigheden;
  • Je bent creatief, flexibel en gast gericht;
  • Je bent kwaliteitsgericht;
  • Je bent energiek en stressbestendig.

Wat bieden wij?

  • Het betreft een functie voor 30-38 uur per week;
  • Werktijden zijn aantrekkelijk, voornamelijk doordeweeks en overdag. (werktijden in overleg);
  • Een marktconform salaris en je bent (vrijwel alle) weekenden en feestdagen vrij.

Students for ICT

De Oude Bibliotheek
De Oude Bibliotheek (DOB) is a knowledge institute for the offshore energy sector. It is
comprised of an academy (DOB-Academy) and an innovator (DOT). The academy provides
training courses for professionals and houses its own experts, graphical department and
animation studio. DOT develops a new type of wind turbine and a new type of foundation. A total
of approximately 80 people work at DOB. Both subsidiaries of DOB share the same IT
infrastructure, which is installed at two locations.

Job overview
Working behind the scenes at a medium sized company maintaining and updating every aspect of
its ICT infrastructure. It is your task to make sure that your colleagues have access to the IT
resources in a reliable and secure fashion. Furthermore, you will be responsible for a diverse
portfolio of project, ranging from replacing a hard disk in a laptop to configuring a firewall. The
diversity of the teams and projects at DOB ensures that you will never have a dull moment and
requires you to continuously learn about the latest IT development on a variety of platforms.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Making sure the following devices are up and running
    • Server
    • Network Attached Storage (NAS)
    • Other network devices such as switches, access points and firewall
  • Keeping the Active Directory up-to-date
  • Supporting colleagues accessing the ICT infrastructure
  • Supporting colleagues with other IT related questions
  • IT Projects related to the wind turbine development

Qualifications

  • Student at university or HBO
  • Interested in solving IT related problems
  • Programming experience is preferred
  • Basic understanding of the Dutch language is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Back-up is preferred
  • Basic knowledge about networking such as TCP-IP, FTP, http(s), SMTP is preferred
  • Basic knowledge about MS desktop and server environment is preferred

  • Flexible part-time position: (minimum) 4 hours per week
