Japanese delegation visits DOB-Academy

Japanese delegation visits DOB-Academy

On July 30th, DOB-Academy had the pleasure of welcoming ten academic and industry leaders, on behalf of the Research Institute for Ocean Economics from Japan. The group was led by professor Ken Takagi, responsible for Ocean Technology, Policy and Environment department of the University of Tokyo, and joined by industry partners such as Mitsubishi and Hitachi. During the visit, the group was given a lecture about the principles of harnessing wind energy, after which the delegation was invited to build their own rotor blades. Creative designs were introduced and discussed, providing real insights in the challenges involved in designing such structures. The morning continued with presentations by Ampelmann and Fistuca.

We strongly believe that by sharing the Dutch experiences in offshore wind on an international level, we are able to empower engineering excellence. Are you interested in organising your own tour at DOB-Academy? It would be our pleasure to have you. Please contact Desiree van Es for more information.
