Become familiar with the FIDIC General Conditions and understand how and when to use them to manage an offshore wind project successfully. You’ll learn that and so much more in just one day during the ‘Introduction to FIDIC in Offshore Wind’ training course.
This two-day FIDIC course provides you with an overview of the basics of FIDIC, in general, and the FIDIC Yellow Book edition 1999, in particular. The FIDIC Yellow Book contract is the most commonly used type of contract in the offshore wind market. It is applied for wind turbine supply agreements, as well as engineering, procurement and design and build (D&B) contracts for the balance of the plant. The course will focus on how to use the FIDIC Yellow Book in practice, mainly from a Contract Management / Project Management perspective and – to a lesser extent – a legal perspective. As a result, the course will address the practical implications of all 20 clauses for daily project life.
Language
The ‘Introduction to FIDIC in Offshore Wind’ training course and its materials are written and given entirely in English. However, it will be possible to give the lectures in Dutch if all the participants are Dutch.

Hybrid sessions
Until further notice all training courses will be given in either online or hybrid format. Both hybrid and online training courses consist of live-streaming sessions with continuous interaction between the teachers and all participants. The difference between these formats is that during hybrid sessions a small number of participants can attend physically in our building in Delft, while others attend simultaneously via live-streaming. The content of the lectures and cases during a hybrid session is equal for both physical and online participants. All participants receive a DOB-box beforehandcontaining all materials required for bothonline and physical participation.
The maximum number of participants allowed at our training courses will depend on the Dutch COVID-19 regulations and may vary over time.Allotting the available physical seats will be done based on the‘first come first served’ principle.
If necessary, or if we deem fit, we can and will switch from hybrid to online format to safeguard the health of our clients and colleagues. This implies that also the physical participants will have to attend via the live–streaming session online. We do not advise to wait for a next session to attend physically, aswe cannot guarantee safe participation at our building months or even weeks aheadof time. DOB-Academy reserves the right to switch from ahybridto anonline format up to 24 hoursbefore the start of the training course.
